PADDLE READY

PaddleReady_Silvija_500This original painting is one of my favourites. Paddle Ready was created using acrylic paint and archival ink. A clear coat of epoxy resin gives a mirror-like finish and colour vibrancy. Painted on a 4″x4″ gallery-depth wood panel, it has finished sides giving the option to be displayed free-standing on a shelf or wall hung. Paddle Ready, 4×4. (sold)

Lovely to find my painting, Paddle Ready, featured on the Muskoka Arts & Crafts

CAT

CatI have a huge cat allergy but couldn’t resist having a feline friend in my art studio. Cat, 4×4, acrylic & archival ink. (NFS)

THROUGH THE TREES

Through the TreesWe had a family ski chalet for many years just outside of Creemore. On the lower level, the back view was onto tree trunks. Though this painting is a somewhat abstract rendition of the view, it was

BLUE BUG

Blue BugA nod to a truly classic car that has taken me on many road trip adventures. One of a series of bugs, 4×4, acrylic & archival ink, resin.

inaugural MA&C MAKER MARK

MAC_MakerMark_2021_BlackThis year heralds the introduction of the MAC Maker Mark – a designation given to artists and craftspeople producing work in Muskoka. Though applying brushstrokes on canvas is typically a solitary activity, engaging in an artistic community is a vital part of my life as an artist. Opportunity to share skills, exchange knowledge, hang artwork together for a show, explore new ideas, celebrate successes and learn from challenges is priceless. I am honoured to be a member of Muskoka Arts & Crafts since 2018.

HEART

Heart_SilvijaMacLaren Art Centre – 2019 Off the Hook Art Auction brochure: “Rendered towards abstraction, the artist aims to communicate how the natural rhythms of a forest are similar to that of a heartbeat.” Heart, 24×24, acrylic & archival ink. (sold)

COAST HIGH

Coast_High_SilvijaBecoming a member of Muskoka Arts & Crafts lead to an immediate flurry of activity. Just enough time to enter two paintings into the 42nd Annual Spring Members’ Show. What an unexpected delight to receive an Award of Excellence for Mixed Media for “Coast High”. Judges Lezlie Winemaker & Ian Bodnaryk remarked, “Great use of colour and well executed use of materials”. Coast High, 12×12, acrylic & archival ink, resin. (sold)

WHISTLER

Whistler_SilvijaLife is too short not to experiment. This somewhat abstract painting called Whistler is painted loosely using only a palette knife (versus traditional paint brushes). Inspired by the ski hills at Whistler, BC. This piece was shown at the Richmond Hill Group of Artists, 41st Annual Juried Art Show & Sale. Whistler, 12×12, acrylic. (sold)

DANCING PINES

Dancing Pines When I am on a snowshoe trail, I can’t help but notice how a group of pines seemingly move to and fro as the breeze blows. The silhouette of these trees is so enchanting; the movement of one pine next to the other gives the impression of a forested dance.  Dancing Pines, 30×30, acrylic. (NFS)
